Fruits for Your Baby
When your baby is seven to nine months old, offer him cooked fruits served separately from other foods that are easy for him to digest. Apples, apricots, berries, peaches, pears, plums, and dried fruits, cooked and served at room temperature, are naturally sweet. When your baby is nine to 12 months old, you can continue with these same cooked fruits, and add soft, fresh seasonal fruits that can be mashed, such as berries, melons, grapes, avocados, papayas, mangoes, and bananas.
At 12 months, he can eat small fruits such as blueberries, cherries, and blackberries and cut pieces of fresh fruits that are hard, such as apples, apricots, pears, and citrus fruits. At 18 months, when he can chew well, he can eat dried fruits that require chewing, such as raisins and prunes. For best digestion, wait 30 minutes after eating grains, vegetables, and beans to offer fruits as a dessert or snack.

The following chart gives an overview of which fruits to start feeding and when. The chart also includes how frequently to feed these fruits. At all of these stages, take special care to cut small, round fruits in half, and remove pits from all stone fruits, so these do not become a choking hazard.
