1. Why choose i play.® Boys’ Trunks & Board Shorts with Built-in Reusable Absorbent Swim Diaper?

i play.®  Trunks & Board Shorts with Built-in Reusable Absorbent Swim Diaper help provide secure protection in the water for babies and swimmers. The snug fit and waterproof outer layer helps contain solid matter and is approved for public pools. No other diaper is necessary, and it is more effective if worn alone rather than over a disposable swim diaper, as long as it is properly fitted. The trim, lightweight design and stretchy material encourages swimming and movement and the comfort seams around the waist and legs are soft next to baby’s delicate skin.

The patented, triple-layer protection helps prevent unsanitary accidents. The wicking liner is next to baby’s skin and pulls moisture away from the skin to help prevent diaper rash. An inner absorbent layer offers protection outside of the pool without puffing up, and the waterproof outer layer contains solid matter and helps prevent unsanitary & embarrassing accidents.

The i play.®  Trunks & Board Shorts with Built-in Reusable Absorbent Swim Diapers are economical and create less waste as you can use, wash, and reuse. They are machine washable, offer UPF 50+ sun protection, and are made without formaldehyde and azo dyes for baby’s health & safety.

The elastic waistband stretches for easy on & off and select styles offer a sizeable pocket for collecting treasures during outdoor play.

2. Do the i play.® Trunks & Board Shorts with Built-in Reusable Absorbent Swim Diapers protect from urine leaking too?

The absorbent inner layer combined with the waterproof outer layer provides some protection from urine leaking before being immersed in water. However, it is not meant to provide leak-proof protection from urine, and will only hold small amounts of liquids, so we recommend waiting until you are ready for swimming or water play before changing into the swimsuit with diaper. Once the swimsuit has been fully immersed in water, the absorbent layer will no longer be effective at absorbing more urine.

3. Will the absorbent layer puff up and be heavy for my baby?

No, the patented absorbent layer is designed to hold a small amount of liquid without puffing up, so your baby will still be comfortable. For example, a dry, 12 month size, Snap Reusable Absorbent Swim Diaper weighs 2 ounces and when fully immersed in water weighs 7.5 ounces.

4. What are comfort seams?

The i play.® Trunks & Board Shorts are designed so the soft, wicking liner is sewn over the elastic waist and legs to be softer and more comfortable on babies delicate skin. The elastic should fit snugly on waist and legs to contain solid matter, but should not fit too tightly that it leaves indentation marks on baby’s skin.

5. How is the material treated with UPF protection?

i play.® Swim & Sun Wear is treated using the Rayosan™ process. This process coats fabric in an invisible, chemical layer, thereby increasing the material’s effectiveness at blocking UV rays.

6. Is UPF treated material safe for my baby?

The Rayosan™ process is OEKO-TEX® certified to meet the STANDARD 100. This means that any product treated with the Rayosan™ process meets or exceeds tests and does not contain harmful substances. Your baby is safe to wear and use these products.

7. What materials are the Trunks & Board Shorts with Built-in Reusable Absorbent Swim Diapers made of?

The outer shell is microfiber polyester with a polyester swim diaper.

8. Will the colors on my Trunks or Board Shorts fade?

The bright colors may eventually fade when consistently exposed to chlorine and sunlight.

Product Use

1. Why does my baby need to wear a swim diaper?

Recreational Waterborne Illnesses (RWIs) are illnesses caused by germs that can contaminate water. Contaminated water resulting from fecal matter is a major cause of RWIs. Swallowing even a small amount of water that has been contaminated with feces containing germs can make someone sick, especially little ones or others with compromised immune systems. 27 states require or encourage the use of approved swim diapers for diaper-aged children swimming in public pools, because they help prevent the spread of RWIs.

“Approved” swim diapers are waterproof and have snug-fitting legs and waist to help keep bacteria out of the water.

To avoid transmission of diseases, do not allow children to enter the water if they are ill, experiencing diarrhea or loose stools. Parents are responsible for checking the diaper often. Remove the baby from the water and change the diaper immediately when soiled.

2. How do I know if the trunks or board shorts are properly fitted to prevent accidents?

View our size chart here

Children grow at their individual pace, so weights and measurements may vary by age. Measure your child’s waist and legs for best estimate of appropriate size. For secure protection, swim diapers should fit snugly around the legs and waist to hold solids, but not too tight to leave indentation marks in the skin.

  1. Measure the waist around your baby’s natural waistline, just above the hips.
  2. Measure the leg circumference without a diaper on, at the crease of your baby’s leg between the upper leg and groin.
  3. Two fingers should comfortably fit between the skin and the stretched garment
3. Should I wear a disposable swim diaper under the i play.® Trunks or Board Shorts?

No other diaper is necessary when wearing the i play.® Trunks & Board Shorts with Built-in Reusable Absorbent Swim Diapers! As long as the swimsuit is properly fitted it will help prevent unsanitary and embarrassing accidents in the water.

Care

1. How do I clean my i play.® Trunks or Board Shorts?

If your baby has soiled the diaper, dispose of any solids into the toilet and wash in cold water. Machine wash cold. Only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.

For quicker drying, turn the trunks inside out so the diaper is exposed to more air flow.

2. Will my Trunks or Board Shorts shrink or be ruined after washing and drying?

i play.® Trunks or Board Shorts with Built-in Reusable Absorbent Swim Diapers should not shrink if washed & dried using the suggested directions.

3. Will my Trunks or Board Shorts lose its UPF coating after washing?

UPF coating may start to deteriorate after approximately 30 washes, but will still offer sun protection.

Safety

1. What should I do if I see tears in the fabric?

Discard immediately if any signs of excessive wear & tear appear.

2. Do you use flame retardant finishes on the fabric?

We do not use any flame retardants in any of our products. Most flame retardants contain potentially harmful substances such as formaldehyde, which we avoid in our manufacturing. Do not iron and keep away from flames.

3. What safety standards is this product tested to?
