How long have you been in business?

Becky Cannon founded i play.® in 1982 out of a desire to share the natural products she used as a mother with other parents. Becky spent three years studying natural foods and teaching young children at the Dream Window Kindergarten in Japan, where she also had her first daughter Emi. After moving back to the States and preparing for the birth of her second daughter, Mari, Becky missed the unique baby products she discovered in Japan. Soon, Becky began importing wool diaper covers from Japan to make them available for other parents.Today, Becky, Emi, and Mari are the mother-daughter owners of i play., Inc., and they continue to focus on creating the best baby-friendly products for other families. What started with one mail-order item has grown into an offering of a family of brands and hundreds of natural baby products. Explore more about our story.

What is the difference between i play.®, green sprouts®, and grow healthy™?

i play.® baby wear supports a child's innate quality of being that is expressed through play. Swim Wear, Sun Wear, and Play Wear are designed for function and comfort to support movement, connection to nature, and having fun.

green sprouts® baby care promotes holistic early child development with functional Feeding, Toys, and Wellness items. They are made from safer materials to protect from the inside out and to support whole learning and natural health.

grow healthy baby fare offers the nutrition to establish the foundation for lifelong health. Daily Foods, Snacks, and Remedies provide real nourishment from nature's principles by supplying the staples for homemade baby food, while encouraging the use of fresh, organic, seasonal, and local produce.

How do I know your products are safe for my baby?

Our top priority at i play., Inc. is the health and happiness of babies. Since 1982, we have paid close attention to the importance of using natural materials, as well as avoiding potentially harmful substances in our products. Our products undergo extensive testing and adhere to strict safety standards. All of our products are PVC, BPA, and formamide free. We believe it is our responsibility to monitor the quality of our products. We are continually researching ways to make safer products at an affordable price. i play., Inc. has always focused on doing the best thing, the right thing for babies. Does i play., Inc. offer a product warranty?

We want you to be 100% satisfied with every product you receive. While we do inspect a certain percentage of all of our products, we are unable to catch everything. All i play., Inc. products are warranted against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. Failure to follow specific product care instructions will not be considered a manufacturers defect. The customer is responsible for adequate review of shipment upon delivery. Any requests after one year from date of purchase may not be acknowledged. i play., Inc. will pay the return shipping costs if the product is defective or the return is a result of our error.

What kind of dyes do you use?

We love using vibrant hues but only when they are safe for your baby. All organic layette and organic soft toys are made with low impact, azo-free dyes to prevent any irritation to your baby’s skin. All stains on wooden toys are water-based and non-toxic.

I recycled my packaging and no longer have it. Where can I find care information and instructions for products?

You can easily view care instructions for all of our products by simply finding the product on our site and scrolling down to the care instructions listed under the Add to Cart button.

Where can I buy replacement parts?

We do not carry replacement parts for all of our products. We are aware of the need for specific replacement parts and are working to incorporate these items in the future.

We currently sell replacement straws for our green sprouts® Aqua Bottle and our Glass Sip & Straw Cup. You can purchase them here!

What is bioplastic?

Bioplastic has many of the same practical qualities as plastic—durable, easy-to-clean, easy-to-go—but it is made primarily from plant resins, such as corn, bamboo, or potato. Bioplastics are an eco-friendly alternative to plastic and are less dependent on petroleum. Many bioplastics contain small amounts of polypropylene for added stability and flexibility, and some bioplastics are even 100% compostable.

We offer a variety of bioplastic feeding items and toys that are safe for your baby.

What is the difference between the Snap Reusable Absorbent Swim Diaper and other swim diapers?

i play., Inc. is the original Swim Diaper manufacturer with over 20 years of experience developing and testing our unique, patented, and approved Swim Diaper. Swim diapers have become an important health issue and public pools in over 27 states now require or encourage the use of approved swim diapers—waterproof pants with snug-fitting legs and waist. Swimming offers many advantages for babies when simple precausions are used. i play.® Swim Diapers can help prevent embarrassing accidents, as well as provide ultimate secure protection for babies and swimmers.

What gives all i play.® Swim Wear products UPF 50+ protection?

All i play.® Swim Wear products have a non-toxic coating to add an additional layer of sun protection for babies’ sensitive skin. The coating is invisible and acts like a mirror to deflect harmful UVA and UVB rays, keepings them from penetrating through the fabric onto your baby’s skin. The coating is considered to be durable for the life of the garment. It is long-lasting, but will start to gradually wash out after approximately 30 washes.

Although it is a chemical process, it has been tested and passed the Oeko-Tex 100 certification process. This certification ensures us that the process does not contain harmful substances. We share the Oeko-Tex commitment to your personal safety and supporting environmentally sound processes.

All orders are shipped via FedEx within 3-5 business days.

How much will shipping cost?

FedEx Ground Shipping rates within the continental USA:

Orders less than $25: $6.00 shipping costs

Orders between $25-$50: $8.00 shipping costs

Orders over $50: FREE Ground Shipping

Additional shipping costs will be added to customers in HI and AK. We currently do not ship outside of the USA.

Do you ship to Alaska and Hawaii?

We do ship to Alaska and Hawaii. These orders will be shipped USPS or FedEx. Additional shipping charges may apply.

Do you ship to other U.S. territories?

As part of our product guarantee, we want you to be 100% satisfied with every product you receive. If you purchased through on of our authorized retailers, please return or exchange your purchase through that retailer.
